Optical illusion: The Penrose triangle

The Penrose triangle, also known in French language as the “tripoutre” or “tribarre”, is an impossible object designed by the mathematician Roger Penrose in the 1950s. In fact, this object can only exist on two dimensions, drawn on a piece of paper, and never in the physical reality.
This is an important figure in the work of the artist Maurits Cornelis Escher.
This figure was first described in 1934 by Oscar Reutersvärd (1915-2000), and Penrose designed it in 1950.
It was rediscovered by Penrose who publishes the drawing in the British Journal of Psychology in 1958.
The “tripoutre” can only exist in the form of a two-dimensional drawing, because it uses overlapping parallel lines drawn from different perspectives. It represents a solid object, made of three square beams. All the beams are perpendicular to the other two and form a triangle.
However, it is possible to create a solid object resembling Penrose triangle: such forms can be either curved or have a break, but viewed from a certain angle they give the illusion of complete triangle.

Very interesting documentary about the Bermuda Triangle

To make a link with Jordan's article, I found a very interesting French documentary, in which English experts are interviewed and notably Gian J. Quasar, the specialist of the Bermuda Triangle, who gathered the most pieces of information he can find for 12 years about this subject.
The Hutchinson effect could be a plausible solution to explain why magnetic disturbances, rare on earth, are regularly recorded in the area of the Bermuda Triangle ...
Electronic magnetically charged clouds were observed in the sky in this area. These clouds could be related to the interaction of solar particles with the Earth's atmosphere. This could be the result of charged particles around a line of magnetic field. Crossing such a cloud-shaped tunnel induces strong magnetic disturbances.
The explanation for the disappearance of wrecks of ships or aircrafts has been provided by experience not yet explained of the electromagnetic Hutchinson effect that causes abnormal gelatinization or cold fusion of metal and spontaneous levitation. These astonishing phenomenons have been proved by video records, made by Hutchinson himself in his laboratory. These effects are the result of what is believed to be an interaction between very complex longitudinal waves and pulsed electromagnetic fields.
Many effects created in the laboratory recall phenomena observed in the Bermuda Triangle: there is a cloud-changing electromagnetic anomaly.
A slight fog was also observed moving in the room, similar to that described the pilot Bruce Gemona during his flight between the island of Andros and Florida, a sunny clear afternoon, in 1995.
If this effect exists, it is likely that nature is able to gather all the right conditions. And in this case, an aircraft or a ship could suffer significant damage, or even disintegrate. Maybe this is an explanation for mysterious forces often cited by pilots and investigators.
The Earth itself generates a magnetic field, so there may be a place on our planet where this field interacts with other phenomena (solar wind, for example) to create such disturbances. Maybe the Bermuda Triangle, where this part of ocean is nicknamed the Sea Devil, are located in an area where temperatures, weather and the electromagnetic field are conducive to the emergence of the effect Hutchinson.

Triangle in Road Safety...

The Interministerial Committee for Road Safety decided that from 1 July 2008 the yellow vest and the triangular signal should be in every car. Finally, France joined its European neighbors already applying this rule for a long time as Spain.
Previously the Highway Code specified with Article R416-19: "When a vehicle stopped on the roadway is a traffic hazard [...] the driver must ensure the pre-marking of the barrier using its hazard warning triangle or a pre-signal or combination of these two devices. "
Here are additional equipment that French motorists will get a price around 10 € in car shop centers or supermarkets.
As a reminder, to be visible and effective, a triangle signal must be placed at least 150 meters before the car.
Since 1 October 2008, any driver who does not have this equipment in his car will have to paid a fine of 90 € and even 135 € if he does not immediately pay the ticket.
Once again, the triangle is proving to be indispensable.

The Bermuda Triangle

Triangles are a common geometric form in our everyday life such as the instrument, the triangle of road safety, etc. However, one famous triangle is the Bermuda triangle, made famous after Christopher Colombus in 1492 reported something strange in the area...

He wrote in his log book, on October 11th, 1492 ;

"The land was first seen by a sailor (Rodrigo de Triana), although the Admiral at ten o'clock that evening standing on the quarter-deck saw a light, but so small a body that he could not affirm it to be land; calling to Pero Gutiérrez, groom of the King's wardrobe, he told him he saw a light, and bid him look that way, which he did and saw it; he did the same to Rodrigo Sánchez of Segovia, whom the King and Queen had sent with the squadron as comptroller, but he was unable to see it from his situation. The Admiral again perceived it once or twice, appearing like the light of a wax candle moving up and down, which some thought an indication of land. But the Admiral held it for certain that land was near..."

The Bermuda triangle is an area formed by Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and Miami, named also "the evil triangle" because it contains some of the deepest sub-oceanic trenches in the world, envelops the fast-moving waters of the Gulf Stream, and is exposed to fraquent strong water spouts and violent storms which may be the origin of some boats and planes disappearances since the 19th century.

The 5th of December 1945, the legend increased owing to the fact that five fighter-bomber disappeared. To save them, a seaplane was sent to Bermuda but it also disappeared.

Other inexplicable facts like this one have happened in this area:

In the 1950s, the professor Wayne Meshejian declared that the weather satellite of National Oceanographic Administration fell systematically out of order every time it passed over the Triangle of the Bermuda Islands.

According to an article dated 1974 from Los Angeles Times' journalist Howard Rosenberg, more than 50 ships and 20 planes have disappeared there during previous hundred years and the American coastguards answered more than 8 000 emergency calls in this sector.

To explain this mystery, some scientists talk about spatiotemporal distortion, magnetic fields, climatic disturbances or chemical reactions related to the environment, whereas others prefer to believe in extraterrestrials or the influence of the Atlantis.

The Atlantis is a legends speculating that sunken batteries or crystals from the lost continent of Atlantis still emit energy from the ocean floor. Several people suppose that Atlantis was very near of the Bermuda Triangle, which would explain the strange phenomena.

Some people even think on a gate to another dimension. This is suppported by scientists who make careful observations by reporting strange magnetism and gravitational forces which cannot be explained by conventional physics.

In summary, the Bermuda Triangle is a fascinating area which contains a rich story. The bizarre phenomena leads to lots of speculations but nobody withholds the truth. Several scientists keep on testing the area, particularly in the Bahamas because it is believed that some ruins of Atlantis can be seen in the clear shallow waters.

Aliens with triangle-shaped U.F.O

Unidentified aerial phenomena come in various forms, although the prototypical form of "dish" seems to remain the most common. However, since the early 90s, the UFO sightings of a triangular shape multiply on five continents, to imitate the increased presence of reconnaissance aircraft or stealth bomber technology, such as the F-117 or B-2, in our skies.

While the public is familiar with this type of gear through the media, observations describing triangular UFOs continue to flood in posing a real conundrum: if it is not misidentification of devices known to witnesses, are we facing new technologies of hidden knowledge or an armada of vessels belonging to a very powerful "foreign" or aliens?

Triangle in Yoga relaxation

In Yoga, we have a special special movement: he triangle position called Trikonasana.
You need to be stable and full of energy to execute this, in the right order: standing with legs apart, breathe deeply, lifting arms stretched up the horizontal alignment of the shoulders, turn up to the hips and move his right hand on the opposite foot, come back in the first position, repeat on the other side.
The movements must be implemented slowly.

The Triangle: a musical instrument

The triangle, which belongs to percussion part in classical music, is an instrument from Asia, consisting of a cylindrical steel curved rod, affecting the shape of an equilateral triangle (hence its name) open to one of its corners. The triangle is suspended from a rope and beaten with a stick of wood or metal. Its sound is very clear and distinct and you can listen to it in the entire orchestra. There are a variety of triangles which are fitted with bells.
